Recognizing Daily Progress

reflecting on goals and progress

It’s easy to get to the end of the day and feel like what we’ve done isn’t enough. In fact there is always more to do, but this is not the healthiest perspective. Rather, let’s go for clearly defined, measurable, and achievable goals each day. Let’s leave most practice session being able to pat ourselves on the back that we have worked hard towards our measurable goals.

It has become a regular part of my evening to reflect on my practice journal, to acknowledge and be grateful for the progress that I made that day. This might be an opportunity to think about next steps, but is most important to go to bed knowing that the progress you made was enough for that day. That you are enough. To say thanks by trusting in the Lord, knowing that the Lord will always provide strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.

Time to keep it simple,
